Membership is extended to men and women 18 years of age or older who are lineal descendants of an ancestor from any area which later became part of the continental United States of America who worked in a field of mining 1607 through 1907. Also eligible for membership are men and women 18 years of age or older who lineally descend from a brother or sister of any proven ancestor.

All membership inquiries are welcome. Upon the receipt of the application and instructions, the applicant has one year to complete the application process. An extension may be granted on approval of the Board. New members will receive a record copy of their application, a certificate, and an order form for the insignia.

The following is a partial list of acceptable fields related to mining:

• Gold

• Uranium

• Silver

• Aluminum

• Copper

• Tungsten

• Iron

• Gypsum

• Lead

• Radium

• Salt

• Tellurium

• Gas Oil

• Gemstone miners

• Unknown

• People on freight trains servicing the mines

• Owners/investors/ and supervisors of mines

• People who worked in mercantile establishments in mining communities provided it can be proven these occupations were directly related to mining
